I was listening to MGMT earlier and one of their songs was talking about the youth changing.  This made me think of what I used to do when I was a little kid.  I was really into action figures for a long time and was thinking about how kids these days are stuck in this new digital world.  My generation will be the last to ever sit around all day and play with plastic super heroes.  Not saying that it’s gone forever, but with all these new video game consoles, where is the need to play with a plastic spiderman when you can play as spiderman in a video game?

Spiderman always had the best villains.  They were always super scary and brutal looking.  Carnage has to be one of my all time favorites!

Who can forget about the Ninja Turtles?  Raphael and Donatello are somewhere around the house, I couldn’t find them.  The big samurai turtle in the back is from Ninja Turtles III, that was the one where they went back in time to feudal age Japan and kicked major butts.  If you haven’t seen that one, I really recommend watching it!  But back to what I was talking about…

I hope kids don’t lose their sense of imagination and creativity.  Being able to sit around for hours playing with inanimate objects may sound crazy for an adult to do.  But for a kid it enables them to create a whole new world that never existed.  I’m afraid the younger generation will be zombies and stare at their TV’s playing their video games all day.  DUN DUN DUN.

We are stoked to introduce our newest team member to GROUP FLY SKATE, Rocky Sheaffer. We have a deep passion for skateboarding at the core of our brand, so it was a no brainer to connect with one of OKC’s finest. Rocky has a relentless work ethic when it comes to skating. Not only is he a “Certified RIPPER”, but he is a humble and solid dude rooted deep in his faith. We feel we have a solid base to build an epic team with Dewayne McMurry and now Rocky. We have already started collecting footy for our very own skate video (details coming soon). I guess we will never stop…FLY OR DIE. Shouts out to the homey Trevor Vaughan for the ill pics!!!

The Extravaganza was a cool little chill session, thanks to everyone that came out and showed us love. Much respect to the Tree and Leaf family for letting us set up shop. The day was full of laughs and cold winter winds. The Dallas homies and Jabee even stopped by before heading to studio to make hip hop classics. FLY OR DIE.

FLY OR DIE

Today I got a call from my good friend Chris Durning asking if I wanted to join him on an adventure to Alligator Alley.  I’ve driven by this place numerous times and have always wondered if they really had alligators inside… THEY DO.  This place is definitely the best reptile pet store in Oklahoma.  They had a huge selection in creepy crawly things that I would never think twice about purchasing.  But, if i was ever in a situation where I needed to buy a bird eating turantula this would be the place to go.

It kinda creeped me being completely surrounded by slithering and slimy animals…… I kinda like the creepiness.

See I told you they had gators!!!  There was actually an outdoor pond that was supposedly full of them but it was closed :(  BOOOOO!

Cuban Rock Iguana… $500.00.  ehhh I’d rather buy a dog.

Turtles Rule.  Actually these are tortoises… ACTUALLY they’re Red Footed Tortoises.

This Bearded Dragon was just chillin there having a good time.  Well….actually…. he probably hates his life cause he’s stuck in a cage.  Hang in there comrade!

I normally do not jump on J’s unless they are styles 1-6, or the 8s (I love the 8s in purple). When I heard the Air Jordan 6s were coming out on January 23rd, 2010, I immediately began to stack my dough. This particular Jordan model holds a special place in my heart and mind. In the mid 90s I was a basketball junkie. Some say I had a pretty good chance to go to the next level before my season-ending injuries, my high school senior year in ‘96. I remember traveling all over the Midwest in ‘92 hooping with my AAU team, The KC Panthers. We actually had the Black Panther icon on our uniforms, I know mad militant right…lol. Anyways, I had the illest J’s-the 6s…memories, sweet memories. Shouts out to the manager at Finish Line at Quail Springs Mall for holding my pair.

This manager takes care of his customers! He actually water proofed everyone’s Js for free!! Customer service at its finest!!!!!!
