I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for Frozen Yogurt?

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Got a call from my friend Taylor today asking me if I wanted to get icecream (Frozen Yogurt, same thing to me).  OF COURSE I WANT ICECREAM.  We decided to go to a new spot that open called Peachwave.  I was told Peachwave is under the same ownership as Orangetree, which was the premier frozen yogurt hotspot in Oklahoma.  There’s tons of new places popping up everywhere and it’s hard to choose which one to go to.  I just stick to what was here first and try to stay away from the imitators.

When you walk into Peachwave, you’re overwhelmed with bright colors and a clean modern interior.  I guess this is supposed to make it feel “trendy” or something?  I don’t get it.  They say bright colors put people in better moods.  Personally, if this was my ice cream place I would’ve have everything black.  Even the napkins!  But then I’m sure it would turn into a Goth-kid hot spot or something.

Oh, did I mention we were joined by a new friend today?!  His name is Jackson,  he just turned 3… and no it’s not Taylor’s kid.  She’s his babysitter.

Here was the choices of frozen yogurt to choose from: Original Tart, Strawberry, Cheese Cake, Mango, Pomegranate, Blueberry, Chocolate, Coconut, Peach, Banana, Pistachio Almond, Cherry, Peanut Butter, Coffee, Green Apple, Cookie’N Cream, Green Tea, Tiramisu, Taro.

After you pick your frozen yogurt, you’re given a huge variety of fresh fruits, nuts, and candies to add as toppings.  Being a super indecisive person, it took me a second to figure out the perfect combination.

I decided to get Cookies and Cream Ice Cream with Brownie Bites, Captain Crunch, Fruity Pepples, and Marshmellows.  I call that the big kid combo.

Beautiful Day

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

We’ve been working real hard around the office and have been preparing for the drop of our next line.  One of those items is featured on the front page of Look at OKC being worn by one of our closest friends, Jabee.  He’s sporting our new snap back throughout the magazine with our infamous Trillionaire Boys Shirt (Which is currently still on sale I believe).  Jabee is one of the hardest working rappers in Oklahoma and his recognition is well deserved.  If you live in Oklahoma, be sure to grab a copy.  Congratulations Fam!

Yesterday I was invited over to eat some burgers by my friends Dylan and Robin.  It was way to nice outside to not be enjoying.  I got their a little early and sat around watching Khanh prepare food as we were waiting for everyone’s arrival.  Thanks again for having me over!

Here’s Casey about to load on his Twice Baked Lobster and Bacon potatoes.  Those were way to good!! I’m gonna have to get that recipe for future cook outs.  I’ve known Casey for a long time and it’s always good to see old friends.  He plays bass for a band called Stardeath and the White Dwarfs who’s about to start there east coast leg of the tour with the Flaming Lips.  And to top that all off they are going to play Bonnaroo! It’s kind of a big deal.  Good to see you old friend!

Veggie Burgers?!  Ewwwwww.

And here was the star of the show, Rory.  She’s Casey and Jessica’s Daughter and is the Cutest!

There is a lot of fun stuff coming up in the month of April so stay tuned!

Mid-Day Voyage.

Today was a day for adventure!  Jabee and I took an afternoon trip to local boutique Blue 7 to chat it up and check out what they were up to.  Blue 7 at the momment is actually expanding their store and is definitely changing up the local retailing game.  Not only are they the best place to get denim in Oklahoma City, but they carry some great tee-shirt brands! Such as…. GRP FLY!! and yes I’m a shameless self promoter.

Now lately I’ve been in debate with some people about the good ol’ American Apparel tee.  It’s definitely a great quality and feel, but can it withstand the blood, sweat, and tears of a skater?  I shall definitely have to put this to the test.  More on this subject in another post.

Now throughout the whole store there are tons and tons of unique little toys and house-hold decor.  The little kid in me can’t help but want to buy it all.  Speaking of little kid…. oh crap I forgot to feed… eh oh well.

Nooka has definitely stepped their game up lately.  Their color and material choices has always intrigued me.  Though I can’t bring myself to let go of the Casio G-Shock, this would definitely be my second choice of wrist wear.

Speaking of G-Shocks, Blue-7 just got some in.  They aren’t out on display yet but, being the generous and loving people that they are, we got a chance to view some and purchase one early.  Trust me people, big things are happening.  Big things.

After Blue-7, Jabee and I took a quick trip over to Pepperoni Grill up at Pennsquare.  I’m not a fan of restaurants in malls but, I’d never been there before and Jabee insisted I try it.  For some reason when I get cheese grated onto my meal it always gets a little awkward.  The waiter always says, “tell me when to stop.”  The problem is I could probably eat the whole freakin block of cheese so I have to fight my addiction fresh parmasean and yell “STOP!!”

Over all it was a successful afternoon and my food wasn’t half bad.  Actually it sucked but that’s not the point.  The point is… wait, there never was a point was there?  Oh yeah! I hate restaurants in malls.

Sleepy Head

Monday, February 15th, 2010

I awoke this morning rather early trying to get some good design work in before the day got rollin.  Something about the morning is just a lot more tranquil and my mind can think a lot more clearly.  We have a lot of new exciting stuff coming out sooner then you think!  This year is definitely going to be a huge year for us and we are really focusing on little details and ways to upgrade the quality of every aspect of our apparrell.  Fashion right now is in a very interesting position, we are seeing a lot of it being recycled and old styles being brought back up to the forefront of streetwear.  I’m very excited to see the growth of the brand and the reaction to our loyal customers when they see what we’ve been cooking up.  Speaking of cooking up…  I got a little hungry after a few hours of design…

Mmmmm, fettuccine alfredo with a hint of sun-dried tomatoes and some Smoked Italian Sausage!  Just a little something I learned last year when I was back in Italy studying to be a  chef in a five-star restaurant.  Ok i’m lying.

Pho Hoa

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

After a long weekend of events it was obviously we had to end it with a delicious meal at the best Pho restaurant in Oklahoma.  We were joined by our good buddies from dallas Niro, Mando, Infored, and of course Fur Face Boy.  Me, Khanh, and Jabee eat here on the reg but it’s even more delicious when you get to enjoy it with new friends.  I believe it was Niro and Mando’s first time to ever eat this delicious soup.  They gave it 2 thumbs up.  Hope to see these dudes again soon.
