KEEP THE ART ALIVE X ROLLIN DEEP RECAP

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Our good buddies over at Tree and Leaf Clothing hosted an epic art show “Rollin Deep” on May 8th.  Not only are they our exclusive screen-printers for our Season 3 drop, they are also super rad individuals. This show exhibited several high-end street artists from every OKC borough. The homey TruDust and Ryan “StaplesX2″ Scott put this excellent video together to showcase the event. Check out me and the dudes Chris Cao and Jabee looking all serious on camera. We are secretly working on some HUGE limited collab tees with a couple of these artist for winter 2010 and Summer 2010. Introducing Chris Cao

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

It is no secret that Chris Cao, lead designer of the street-wear brand Blooprint, and I are very close friends. It is to my great honor after weeks of brainstorming and discussion, that we have decided to work together and officially join forces under The Group Fly Brand. Chris is an insane artist/designer as well as a street-wear and fashion connoisseur. I am excited for our many future projects together. Chris will be handling a lot of our day to day promotions (shows, blogs, pop-up stores, street-teams, etc.), as well as designing a strong amount of apparel for our future lines. Pretty much in a sense…, we are going full throttle into BEAST-MODE!!!!

The Extravaganza was a cool little chill session, thanks to everyone that came out and showed us love. Much respect to the Tree and Leaf family for letting us set up shop. The day was full of laughs and cold winter winds. The Dallas homies and Jabee even stopped by before heading to studio to make hip hop classics. FLY OR DIE.

OKC Snow storm x OG DUB BRAND Jacket

Monday, February 1st, 2010

A lot of people may not know this, but growing up in Kansas City, we had a man-made ski slope (hill) called Snow Creek. Every winter, in the 90’s, I would put down the skate deck and get geared up to shred the hill. One of my favorite brands at the time was an underground street-wear snow brand call Dub. Our local shop at the time, Let It Ride “92-03″, had all the ill jackets. Well when the storm hit OKC, I had no choice but to pull out the vintage Dub snowboard jacket to put some work in on the driveway. I can’t believe it still fits (thanks P90X). The funny thing is … I can’t even find this brand anymore… lol.

Progression Sesh at Tree and Leaf

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

It is no secret that the homey Chris Cao of Blooprint and I are very close friends. Some even label us brothers, simply because we put in so much work together. It is also a widely known fact, that we are really tight with crew at Tree and Leaf Clothing, Dusty and John are a very important pillar in OKC’s art community. So it was only natural that we start a monthly chill session or as we like to call it, THE PROGRESSION SESSIONS, right in the front lobby at the TREE (aka Tree and Leaf Clothing, NW Expressway and Rockwell). During these in-depth gatherings, we discuss philosophy, religion, street-wear, Thunder basketball, music and most importantly ways to CHANGE UP THE GAME!!!! These meetings are closed to the general public so don’t even try to crash these epic meetings of the minds. Check the pics family, FLY OR DIE.

Parts & Labor instore.

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Last week I was connecting with several regional boutiques, and came across a very unique concept store right here in my very own backyard. After a couple of emails, the good folks at Parts & Labor invited us out for a full tour. So I loaded up the fam and headed downtown on a frigid Tuesday afternoon to experience this place in person. Initially I was excited, because our brand has been working tirelessly to progress and promote the street-wear culture right here in OKC through events, shows, and of course quality apparel. It is always refreshing to see artist express themselves through apparel and fashion, and that is exactly what we found to be true at this boutique. Not only is it a retail store in the making, co-owner Travis Pickell (a fresh artist and designer of War Paint Clothing), designed this space to be a modern art gallery and event space. They have been up and running for a couple of weeks now but already have plans to expand and add more brands in the retail space and guess what brand is gonna be included…FLY OR DIE.
